You cain't always git whatchoo woohnt.
I really wanted this:
But there's no way I could come up with a good excuse for such an expensive vehicle. So instead I'll get this:
The cheapest pickup truck I could find. My van still lives, but I don't trust it for a 5,500 mile trip. With the truck I can rent a U-Haul trailer and move all my stuff to Anchorage, Alaska, where I'll be working as a programmer. Yep, exciting eh? This is the city's skyline.

holy craps!
more details gabe, please?
when are you moving, and what kind of programming. i like the idea of you in a truck for some reason, it makes me smile a little ironic smile.
yes, i would have never expected to be a truck guy. but it makes sense: very useful, cheap, good on gas, and it can go to ski slopes, which i plan on visiting often up there.
i'm moving in 2 weeks, leaving on saturday the 16th of september. i'll stop by toronto (hopefully) to visit reuben and heidi, although i haven't even asked them yet. oops. then sioux center, to see some more people. then minneapolis. then abbotsford, to see scott & margaret and ryan & steph. then anchorage. i start work the 2nd of october. i'll be doing java, and eventually .net, which being similar to java, won't be much of a stretch.
and i'll be skiing often, for sure.
ha, I knew you wouldn't buy an SUV! (My mom always calls them suvs, as if it were actually a word, not an acronym.)
wow, gabe. anchorage looks like a fantastically cool place to live. those mountains are really something.
i retract any misgivings i may have expressed to you over the phone.
Hey Gabe! I worked in Anchorage this summer, and it is AWESOME! You're going to love it. Basically, it is sioux center with more people and mountains! And food selections. And Fred Meyer. I'm excited for you!

So now your going to visit sioux center. I scowl at you! Oh well, maybee I'll just have to make it up to Anchorage next year or something and go skiing with you!
HOORAY!!!
everything i've just read makes me happy.
sioux center? WOOHOO!! asegura de que me saludas, si?
And me. You're going to visit me too, right? Vancouver is on your way, real close to Abbotsford. And it is much more happening than Abbotsford, so I'm sure you'll want to visit.
Anchorage! Wow. That'll be a bit of a change.
Ha! I just realized that my parents have that truck. It is a good one--surprisingly fuel efficient and economical.
Are you going to get it in bright, shiny red, too?
whoah! careful what you say about certain people's hometowns there, Sara. Abbotsford is totally a happening place (if you look for it). And I can even camp on my front lawn!
