Summer is here to stay.

Thanks to all who kept bugging me for an update. It... feels good.

First, pictures of my parents' recent visit. No, that will come later. First, a quick summary of what's going on.

-busy at work, still enjoying it.

-training for the NYC Marathon, this November 5. If I don't get in (it's a lottery, only 35,000 make it out of about twice that number of applicants) I'll run the New Hampshire Marathon, Sept. 30. Next Sunday I'll be doing the Lake Placid Half-Marathon. That should be fun (I think I'm ready, ran 14 miles two weeks ago). I was there earlier this year... drove up to Whiteface to ski, but the car broke down 1/2 mile before the resort. Ended up staying at Lake Placid overnight, and started going to church again. I bet it was my mother making God make me not ski on Sunday.

-yes, I've turned to running/cycling since the ski season is over. And gardening. I moved my tomatoes and sweet peppers outside last week. I think the rabbit finds the sweet peppers' leaves tasty... hmm, maybe that isn't so bad after all. I mean, I do have a recipe for Rabbit Stew. Nah, better wait another month, he's too small right now.

-the herbs that I planted from seed are not faring so well. This gardening thing is harder than I thought. It looked so easy in that book.

-I'm now attending a couple of churches, Terra Nova, in Troy, and Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian, in Schenectady. Both 30 min driving distance. The first one is very contemporary, all Praise & Worship (it's well done, I like it - I know, I know, that's not like me at all) and full of young professionals. The second one is... well, not contemporary, sometimes only psalms. I like both for different reasons. It feels good to have found Christian communities at last.

That's about it, really. Sorry if I didn't post earlier. Figured out why I hate posting, earlier today while ironing my shirt: you're all so far away. I mean, every comment reminds me of the distance that separates me from those I knew/saw often.

That's the truth.

Here's some pictures.

Downtown Saratoga, where I work (actually I'm there right now).

Overlooking the Sacandaga Lake, 30 min north of Saratoga.

The Congress Park. I go to eat lunch there every now and then. It's a quiet place.

Same.
